Every transaction coded, every account reconciled, and a set of books your accountant can pick up without a single follow up email.
Nothing on this list is unusual. It is how most files look before we start.
The bank feed has not been touched since last summer
Receipts live in the truck, the phone, and a shoebox
GST deadlines arrive before the numbers are ready
Your accountant charges you to clean up the file before they can file it
You cannot tell which jobs made money and which ones cost you
Personal and business spending are tangled in the same account
A flat monthly fee covers the whole cycle, not just data entry.
Sales, expenses, and transfers coded consistently, with a chart of accounts that matches how your business actually earns money.
Every account tied out to the statement each month, so the balance you see is the balance you have.
Snap a photo or forward the email. Documents attach to the transaction, which keeps CRA happy if they ever ask.
Prepared, reviewed, and filed on time, with the amount owing and the due date told to you in plain language.
Who owes you, who you owe, and which invoices need a phone call this week.
A clean trial balance, working papers, and supporting schedules handed to your tax accountant in the format they want.
Catch up work is normal here. Two years behind is a Tuesday, not a lecture.
Kaleem Siddiqui, CPAYou show me the file or describe the mess. I tell you what the catch up involves and what the monthly fee will be.
I rebuild the history, connect the feeds, and set up how documents reach me. This is quoted separately and done once.
Books closed by the tenth, statements sent, and anything odd flagged with a note rather than a spreadsheet.
There is no such thing. I have picked up files that had not been touched in three years. The older the file, the more the catch up costs, but it is always fixable.
QuickBooks Online for most small businesses, Sage 50 where a business is already on it, and NetSuite for larger ones. QuickBooks is where I spend most of my time. If you are already set up somewhere, I work in your file rather than moving you.
No. Most clients keep their tax accountant. I keep the books clean all year so their year end work is faster, which usually lowers that bill.
Receipts and any documents I cannot pull from the bank, plus an answer when I flag something unusual. That is it.
Twenty minutes on the phone, no charge. If the file is fine and you do not need me, I will say so.
